Air system Drilling

End Air Compressor

The compressor used is the type of 'Screw single-stage, low pressure, positive-displacement, oil-lubricated flooded' and located behind the engine. So that when the engine is running, screw shaft (rotor screw-female and male) will instantly rotates to suck air and oil from the inlet port, and then supplied to the outlet port in the following way:

When the rotor rotates, meshing point (contact area) shut down a path toward the inlet port, so the air will be trapped inside the chamber. At prosse subsequent rotor rotation, the volume of the chamber between the rotor will be narrowed and the pressure increases. Because it consists of multiple threads, it is always a process of suction and discharge continuously and when the desired pressure is reached will flow through the outlet port to the Oil / Water Reservoir.

Layout Air system Drilling

Drill Pipe Grease Unit

Drill pipe thread lubrication system by spraying grease during the process of connecting drill pipe. Lubricating system is activated with a switch for operating the grease pump.

Intake Valve

Valve in the system is installed between the Air Filter and Air End Compressor, which serves to regulate the quantity of air entering the port Inlet Air Compressor, according to the pilot pressure from the System Pressure Regulator and Pilot Reducing Regulators, so Air Compressor can be positioned Start-Up Run Unload, Loaded and Shut Down. Thus Air Compressor can work more effectively and effesien.
Type Air Inlet valve: Closed Poppet Valve, Vented Poppet Valve, Butterfly Valve Closed and Vented Butterfly valve (with discharge valve)

Minimum Pressure valve

Minimum pressure valve in the form of check valve + spring, mounted on the cover housing separator element (dry side) that serves to maintain a minimum pressure (40 psi) so as to ensure the circulation of oil at start-up and at the same time Main Air Valve positioned On , With minimal maintenance of pressure in the reservoir will prevent the decline and a sudden rise in pressure, so as to prevent damage to the separator element. Besides, it means the minimum pressure valve also serves to maintain a minimum oil pressure in the cleaning side in order to return to End Air Compressor through scavenging line.

Oil Generation Line/Scavenging

The process of taking oil from the dry side through the separator element scavenging line (pipe) to End Air Compressor after going through the check valve, Slight glass, Strainer and Orifice, by utilizing the pressure in the cleaning side retained by the Minimum Pressure Valve.

Air/Oil Receiver

In the form of a tube where there Inlet port that receives a mixture of oil and winds from End Air Compressor, discharge port for directing the oil in the reservoir to the Thermal Bypass valve. Also installed safety valve that serves to prevent an increase in abnormal pressure. While at the top of the reservoir is equipped with Housing Oil Separator with the discharge port to the manifold, the discharge port to the minimum pressure valve, and there Separator Maintenance Indicator Sensors are used to determine the level of oil separator element deadlock.

Drain Valve

Drain choke mounted on the bottom of the reservoir, which opened manually, for mendrain oil when PS II, and periodically (P2H) opened to dispose the content of water (condensation of air in the reservoir).

Oil Cooler

Copper tube-type oil cooler used to cool the oil that comes from the reservoir, heat the oil passing in the tube will be propagated to the Fin oil cooler, so that when the results of a suction fan wind flow through the fins will absorb heat, thus working the oil temperature can be maintained. (77oC - 96oC)

Thermal bypass valve (thermostat)

A valve that has four ports, which works based on an oil temperature change through because there are thermostat therein. Port comes from the reservoir inlet, outlet and inlet ports connected to the oil cooler and the bypass port to the compressor oil filter. When the temperature is below 77oC oil will be directly dibypasskan to the oil filter, whereas when it reaches 77oC, the thermostat begins to open to drain the oil from the reservoir to the oil cooler and more wide open if the higher oil temperature.

Oil Separator

Element filter mounted on the reservoir tank, and serves to separate the oil content of the mixture of air and oil generated by Water End Compressor, so that only the wind pressure that led to the Control System, Flushing & Dust Collector System. In the oil separator is also equipped scavenging line to suck oil that can penetrate the element, and the oil flowed back towards the return orifice and go back to End Air Compressor.

Air Filter

Type element is installed before the Air Inlet Valve and to filter dirt or dust sucked into the End Air Compressor.

Blow Down Valve

In the system there are Blowdown valve system that works based pilot (back) pressure of Compressor Inlet port when the engine is turned off, to relieve wind pressure in the system (reservoir) to the outside air. Running Blow down valve while working under pressure from System pilot pressure regulator to connect the pressure from the manifold to the inlet port End Air Compressor, when Run Unload. In other words, when the Run Unload condition occurs, wind pressure in the system will only be circulated, so there is no increase in pressure, because the Water Inlet valve closed.

Dust Collector

Vacuum cleaner in the dust hood - using a pump impeller which is rotated by a hydraulic pump (trocoid)

High Temp Shutdown Switch

As a safety device Air Compressor by disconnecting electrical circuit and shut off the engine to stop Air Compressor when the discharge temperature exceeds the normal temperature.

Fluid Stop Valve

Valve which serves to shut off the flow of oil to the water flow when the compressor shut-down and drain off the oil flow to the Air compressor Start-up current.

Control Line Moisture Separator

Filter medium that serves to separate and eliminate the moisture content, oil and other impurities.

Torque Wrench

The tools used to tighten the bolt or nut in accordance with the torque standard.
Unit: kgm, Nm, lbfeet

Prebar / tomy bar

A tool used to pry, prying rugged components.

Wire rope/Chain

Steel chains or slings used to lift the component on its use chains or slings steel end mounted hock. Unit: kg, tons

Pressure Gauge

The tools used for measuring the oil pressure in the oil pressure system or wind
Unit: kg / cm2, MPa, bar, Psi.

White marker

Used to signal components, in order to facilitate the installation back or prevent repetitive work. For example: the mark given to the bolt head, as a sign if the bolt has ditorque, so it does not happen over-torque or repetitive work.

Suckle

Used as a chain connections, making it easier for the association or chain arrangement when lifting components.

Okay, maybe it was this time.
I hope this helps you. Thank you

1 Response to "Air system Drilling"

  1. Well, when you first begin purchasing your own tools, as with anything unknown, it can be a little scary. That's why we often stick to things that we are sure of - like a drill driver and a measuring tape. Obviously, price can affect this decision as well. Most people don't like spending big bucks on something they're not even quite sure how to use. I'm sure we've all experienced feeling this way regarding some particular tool.
